Luke Hodinka

GAME DESIGNER

I was accepted into Georgian College for the Computer Programming Analyst program. I attended for three years, had three successful co-ops with Manulife, Shop Eddies, and RBC Bank, and graduated with honours. During my time there, I learned so much and experienced many things. I made little gadgets, designed shirts and a game simulation, and was also the Dungeons and Dragons club president. So many people would overlook these things, but they helped me in many ways. They allowed me to practice planning, organizing, creating, and being a good leader. All this has helped me gain confidence in my skills, ideas, and myself.

Unfortunately, that feeling did not continue after I graduated. After many months of unfulfilling jobs and the dreaded Covid, I realized I wasn't happy. I couldn't be creative, and I knew I wanted to get into the videogame field. That was the reason I got into programming in the first place, but I knew it wasn't going to be handed to me. So I decided to go back to school, specifically to design video games. I quit my job and spent the rest of 2020 working on my portfolio, aka this website.

Most of my time was spent learning Unreal Engine by myself. It wasn't easy, but I could create good projects with the bit of experience I had. I am now working hard at George Brown, making my games come to life. I hope you found this exciting and got a better understanding of me.

I look forward to the day when I can add an updated section of my accomplishments in a few years. Feel free to look at my projects or contact me for potential work opportunities.
